NOTES AND ACTION POINTS FROM THE MEETING HELD ON 11TH DECEMBER 2007
It was agreed that we should work on the Eddleston Shuffle, Dance for 5, Leith Water World and Muddle in a Puddle so that we can use them as demonstration dances.
AP 1 – Talitha agreed to look into copyright issues relating to music.
AP 2 – Sheila agreed to lead each evening’s proceedings on the understanding that everyone will contribute when asked to do so.
The format of the evening was agreed as follows:
AP 3 – Jo to update the website to include the new videos and demonstrations.
AP 4 – Trina to change the MySpace page to a group page (rather than as an individual as it currently is).
It was agreed that the dances which are currently on the wiki should be opened up to anyone who wants to use them.
AP 5 – Jo to change the documents to remove the passwords and to upload them all as PDF files. DISCHARGED
AP 6 – Ian and Ruth to investigate a new CD player.
It was agreed that we should keep the tartan waistcoats and black skirts/trousers.
AP 7 – Charlotte to keep in touch with Caroline Adam about the Scott’s Selkirk event and to investigate Traquair and Innerleithen festivals. Update: Innerleithen Music Festival will run from 15th-17th August 2008.
AP 8 – Trina to investigate Dunfermline and Leith Folk Clubs and the bluegrass club as possible demo venues.
AP 9 – Jo to investigate Linlithgow Folk Festival. Update: the festival will run from 11th-14th September 2008.
AP 10 – Talitha to investigate John Muir Trust as a possible American connection and also mentioned the Glasgow Americana Festival.
AP 11 – Sheila and David to investigate the Robert Adam event (1740s period) in Ledhills.
AP 12 – Trina to investigate Edinburgh’s Ceilidh Culture event.
It was agreed that the first session for 2008 would be on Tuesday, 8th January.
AP 13 – Talitha to liaise with Ian in relation to filming the steps.
AP 14 – Jo to approach ALP in relation to running a workshop for them. Update: e-mail sent on 5th January 2008 offering workshops.
AP 15 – Jo to look into a set of conditions (such as a wooden floor, somewhere to change, electricity supply) required for workshops and performances to form a sort of ‘contract’.

- 50 minute lesson on steps followed by time working on a particular dance
